A BRIEF NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF MY SELF
My name is Rev. Dr. Jusuf Hutapea, D.Th.
I live in Medan north Sumatera Indonesia. I am a pastor of HKI (The Indonesian
Christian Church) in Medan. I was born in Pansurbatu North Tapanuli Regency on December 14, 1985. My wife Deliana Siahaan and we have Dougther, her name is Sion Hutapea. I had been ordained as a Pastor. I love God very much and congregation. That is why I wanted to
be a pastor. After graduating from Senior High School 2004, I directly
surrender my life to service God. Then I studied in The Evangelical Theological
Seminary of Indonesia (STII). Then in 2008 I graduated from a Bachelor of
Theology (B.Th). More over this seminary and church supported me to continue my
study. In 2008 I continued my lesson in ABDI SABDA Theological College, Medan
North Sumatera Indonesia. After that in 2010 I graduated as a Magister of
Theology (M.Th). I am a lecturer in Sola Gratia Theological Seminary of Medan.
I was a candidate of pastor when I was a
lecturer and a leader of Church in
Medan. In 2012 I was ordained as a pastor of HKI and I am serving at HKI Medan.
In 2014 I continued my lesson for
Doctoral Program in Asian Seminary of Cristian Mnistries (ASCM),
Manila-Philippines. After that in 2016 I graduated as a Doctor of Ministry. In
2016 I continued my study Ekumene Theological College, Jakarta Indonesia for my
Second Doctoral Program. After that in 2018 I graduated as a Doctor of Theology
(D.Th).
I have involved in various ministries in churches and other places. Since 2009 till
today, I am chairman of the Christian Youth Communion of Churches in Indonesia
of Medan. Then I have also served as a volunteer in a variety of services.
I have been active in 2009-2013 to some villages
and rural areas in Indonesia and conducted spiritual guidance and counseling to
the public on special case. Beside I was a volunteer from 16 to 29 September
2012 in the Island Papuan to help and teach children who are ignored and deprived
of life. I believe children need to be take care of because they are our
future. How ever, despite the fact many people think that they are
concerned with the future, but are less concerned with the children. Children
are the future. But children often experience abuse, children are often
neglected and even children are often victims of injustice and evil. Many
children have to struggle to do what should not be done as a child, but due to
economic pressures and often by adults, children do not enjoy their childhood.
Many special cases experienced by children in various regions in Indonesia and,
especially in remote areas of Papua, the children do not get a proper health
care and education as a child. United Evangelical Mission (UEM) as a fellowship
of churches notice and aware of the struggles of children in the Island Papua. This is one of reasons I served
children up to day. Such as counseling for children, bible study for children
and spiritual game for children. And recording my service I sent to the website

Since
2010 I have been active as faculty at Campus Crusade for Christ in Indonesia. I
was as a volunteer in doing that. In 2012 I am chosen as a director Magister Degree
at STT sola Gratia Medan. I have responsibility to be a chairman of the program
till today. Then I feel it is uncountable grace for me, so I always do
evangelism. To make it more focus I join training at Malang City (East Java
Indonesia) for a month. Then trainer side (Evangelism Explosion/EE) chose me as
teacher and trainer Evangelism Explosion. In connection with evangelism, I ever
join training in Haggai Institute Indonesia; they also ask me as part time
coordinator of the symposium. I ever also joining training in Pastoral
Leadership Institute International-USA (since 2016 up to 2019).
Then in
HKI church beside as Pastor, I often serve as counselor and hold training from
Youth so that they are provided as counselor for the special case of Christian
Batak. By this need, so Bishop support and ask me to focus on pastoral service
and hold counseling for local church of HKI. So my Bishop recommends me to
continued my study for HKI Future in pastoral side. HKI plans to build and made
TC (Training Center) facility. So that why I am recommended to continue my
doctoral theology on Christian Pastoral counseling subject in ASCM.
My
hobby is playing badminton, I play badminton three times a week, beside hobby
it is challenge games and it needs brain and speed of hand movement
The
most affected statement Christian faith is: “AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DO IT
HEARTILY, AS TO THE LORD AND NOT TO MEN” (Colossians 3: 23).
This my
short story in serve God who has I did and should be seriously I did for the
glory of Jesus Christ and serve love for the people around who need God’s love.
